ASSESSMENT OF THE FUNCTIONING OF MILK PROCESSING ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE

Abstract


Introduction. The solution of the food problem in Ukraine depends on the efficiency of the dairy subcomplex, which is an important part of the national economy and to some extent determines the level of provision of the population with milk and dairy products. Its essence lies in the interconnected and balanced functioning of a set of different branches of a complex integration system “processing of raw milk ‒ sale of dairy products” and meets the needs of the population in milk and milk products. Methods. The following methods are used in the research process: comparative analysis ‒ in assessing the general trends in the dynamics of indicators of the level of milk production, its processing, evaluation of production activities of milk processing enterprises; graphic ‒when reflecting the production of basic dairy products, the trend of production and economic activities of dairy enterprises; abstract and logical ‒ in preparing conclusions. Results. The dynamics of milk production – the main raw material for dairy enterprises of Ukraine in terms of years is analysed. The main tendencies and the analysis of influence of separate factors on a modern condition of functioning of the milk processing enterprises are carried out. Indicators of production and economic activity of some enterprises of the dairy industry of Ukraine are estimated. The reasons for reducing the consumption of dairy products in Ukraine are substantiated. The market share of the leading dairy producers in Ukraine has been established. Discussion. The results of the study can be used in shaping the development strategy of dairy enterprises in Ukraine. The priority of competitive development of the dairy industry is due to the purpose of processing raw milk - the manufacture of high quality products in a wide range with the maximum possible extension of shelf life and valuable properties for consumers. The realization of this goal makes it possible to address important social and economic issues at the regional and state levels.
